This is an album that Zeo Trap proudly describes as unique. The Rwandan artist revealed that preparing for its launch concert has required extensive collaboration with various partners to secure resources. The much-anticipated concert is set for July 2025.
Although the exact date and venue are yet to be finalized, Zeo hinted that discussions with potential collaborators are moving in the right direction, offering positive prospects.
Speaking exclusively to InyaRwanda, Zeo Trap shared his excitement: “We’re in talks with partners. We’ve set our sights on July, and it’s something achievable. Right now, we’re in May. You can see we had to first give people time to experience the album, then organize the concert and announce it after proper promotion.”
The artist took the opportunity to rally support from fans and Rwandan music enthusiasts, emphasizing that this concert marks a pivotal moment as his first major event as an independent artist. It also coincides with the release of "Ntago Anoga," the title track of the album.
He explained further, “I will also invite other artists to collaborate with us in July if everything goes well. We are planning, but God is also part of the plan. The reason I hadn’t mentioned this before is that I didn’t have a solid reason, but now I do. There will be other artists I’ve worked with who will come to support me.”
Zeo Trap highlighted the tremendous effort involved in organizing an album launch and expressed hopes for the support of Rwandan music lovers. He passionately stated, “It’s about supporting that person, showing them that what they’ve done wasn’t in vain,” underscoring the importance of community backing.
For this year, the artist affirmed that his primary focus is this album launch, promising to announce the official concert date and location soon.
Touching on broader challenges in Rwanda’s music industry, Zeo addressed the skepticism artists face from investors when pitching their projects.
He remarked, “It’s not easy to tell someone to invest money in a project, but we’re fortunate to have ongoing discussions. We’re preparing for a concert that meets high standards. As an independent artist, I think it’s remarkable to be able to pull off something like this.”
Zeo Trap initially planned for the album to feature 12 tracks; however, due to overwhelming expectations from fans, he added more songs, making this project even bigger than anticipated.
He stated, “It was part of my goals to complete an album with a distinctive ‘Drill’ music vibe so that people could appreciate the uniqueness of the genre and how it feels.”
The album "Ntago Anoga" is divided into four unique sections:
- Street Life: Dedicated to showcasing the struggles of street culture, this section uniquely captures the expressions and lifestyles of urban environments.
- Inspiration: Filled with motivational messages encouraging people to persevere and chase their dreams, regardless of challenges.
- Love & Relationships: Exploring modern love dynamics, especially how some young women aspire to luxurious lifestyles.
- Authenticity: Features bold lyrics rooted in traditional Kinyarwanda and Kirundi languages, giving the album a rich cultural feel.
Reflecting on his creative process, Zeo said, “I didn’t want people to just listen to my album absentmindedly. I wanted them to sit down, take their time, and dive deeply into it.”
Zeo Trap began his music journey in 2021, establishing himself as an independent artist. His first album, "Abafana 100," debuted in 2023, and like his second project, was entirely a solo effort without collaborations.
Proving his versatility, Zeo worked alongside producers to perfect the audio production and design video lyrics that complement this bold project.
Zeo Trap announced his ongoing preparation for his milestone concert, marking the grand debut of his album "Ntago Anoga."
The artist confirmed that discussions with collaborators are underway, with plans to secure additional resources for his highly anticipated event.
He also announced that he would invite fellow artists to join him in celebrating this milestone concert
