The event was not only a vision-sharing platform; it was also a significant milestone celebrating Zacu TV’s dedication to the Rwandan film industry. Over the past three years, Zacu TV has fueled local audiences’ love for movies crafted in Kinyarwanda by Rwandan filmmakers.
A highlight of the celebration was the announcement of Zacu TV’s collaboration with RwandAir to bring Rwandan movies to the airline’s international flights. This innovative partnership aims to further promote the art of Rwandan cinematography to a worldwide audience.
Reflecting on the remarkable journey of Zacu TV, Misago Nelly Wilson, CEO of Zacu Entertainment, shared his pride in their achievements. He applauded the unwavering support of their partner CANAL+, which has been instrumental in delivering content across Rwanda, and expressed gratitude towards actors for their dedication to the craft and passion for creating impactful films.
Discussing industry challenges, Misago acknowledged the struggle to find committed and prepared actors. While Zacu TV consistently searches for new talent among thousands of hopefuls, only a few rise to the demands of producing high-quality films. He emphasized the need for dedicated individuals who can contribute to 90% series production efforts without causing delays due to reshoots.
“It is not always true that one sees the same actors repeatedly. The reality is that many try, but only a few are dedicated enough to handle the challenges this industry presents. We need passionate people who are committed, so productions run smoothly,” he explained.
