Between April and May 2025, artists Yampano and Marina became a hot topic in the entertainment industry when their collaborative song was removed from YouTube. Marina accused Yampano of breaching their agreement to produce a music video for the track, while Yampano argued the issue wasn’t serious enough to warrant such backlash.
Their public feud escalated to heated exchanges on social media and coverage in the press, resulting in the complete halt of their joint project. Since then, the two musicians have not worked together on any new projects.
In an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda, Yampano shared that he and Marina have yet to sit down and resolve their differences. Still, he views the experience as an important lesson for both parties.
Yampano reflected, “You see, we haven’t discussed the issue yet. I won’t deny that, but this isn’t the kind of problem that would lead us to court or cause us to speak negatively of each other. What happened was simply a learning experience for both of us."
Despite the fallout, Yampano expressed optimism about the future, stating his belief that their removed song will eventually be re-released and that they can work on new music together.
“The song we collaborated on will be released, and we will work on more projects. I genuinely enjoy working with Marina—I’ve told her that even before we entered the studio,” Yampano added.
Although communication between the two remains unresolved, Yampano affirmed his readiness to produce visuals for their previously removed track and officially relaunch it.
He stated, “We haven’t spoken yet, but artists communicate intuitively—we're already connected. Maybe she will agree to creating the video, but even if she declines, I am sure we’ll redo projects and create new songs.”
Looking ahead, Yampano revealed his hope to work with Marina on a collaborative EP and even plan a joint concert. He emphasized the mutual benefits of combining their respective audiences and delivering something impactful.
Yampano explained, “It would be amazing to collaborate on an EP, as we're both part of the music business. Marina has her followers, just as I do. When we combine those audiences, we can create not just one song but multiple tracks—and perhaps host a joint concert, making this the right time to connect meaningfully.”

He also commented that the YouTube incident and subsequent feud with Marina served as a valuable learning experience for both artists.
Yampano remains determined to work with Marina on several new tracks and produce polished music videos that will resonate with their shared audiences.
