The General Assembly of the Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) convened on Saturday, August 16, 2025, marking a significant decision-making moment for the upcoming 2025/26 volleyball season.
Key resolutions from the meeting included setting the league's start date for October 17, 2025. This newly crafted framework is designed to enhance season preparedness and elevate the competitive structure for determining championship winners in Rwanda's volleyball league.
In a major update to the playoff format, the assembly approved a more demanding structure. Whereas in past seasons teams competing in finals played three games, with two wins enough to claim the title, the 2025/26 playoffs will feature five matches. Teams will now need to secure three victories to triumph as champions, making the tournament more competitive and engaging for fans.
The 2024/25 season concluded with remarkable achievements — APR VC seized the men’s championship title, while Police VC dominated the women’s league, showcasing skillful performances from both teams.
Beyond these developments for the league, the assembly also focused on organizational leadership. Elections for FRVB’s new executive committee have been scheduled for September 20, 2025. These elections will introduce successors to the outgoing committee led by Ngarambe Raphaël, whose term spanned from May 2021 to 2025, leaving a legacy of strong governance.
