Victor Rukotana, renowned for celebrating Rwandan culture through his music, previously performed extensively in hotel venues.
Recently, he announced a bold move to shift from entertaining in hotels to organizing exclusive cultural concerts, creating a space where audiences can immerse themselves in Rwandan traditions. Attendees will enjoy live music, solve riddles, share proverbs, and reflect on traditional heritage.
Rukotana revealed, “I used to perform in hotels, but I realized my work needed a distinctive approach. So, I decided to organize my own concerts, inviting people to sing along to my songs and reconnect with our cultural roots. It’s a chance to bond while enjoying traditional music.”
This initiative aligns with the release of his first album Imararungu, featuring an array of songs that mirror Rwanda's soulful essence, including Umunyana, U Rwanda, Amatajye, Mpobera, Ku Muyange, Juru, Inyange, Hozana, and Yampayinka.
Victor Rukotana, who has been contributing to the Rwandan music industry for seven years, has also delighted fans with songs centered around love and various themes. His repertoire includes popular tracks such as Sweet Love, Promise, Warumagaye, Romance, Umubavu, Se Agapo, Love, and Kideyo.
These monthly concerts aim to create a platform that bridges Rwandan music enthusiasts with their vibrant cultural heritage. The events are designed to inspire deeper appreciation for Rwandan traditions, fostering unity and cultural preservation. Scheduled to begin in October 2025, Rukotana promises an unforgettable celebration of Rwanda’s identity.
