Theo Bosebabireba’s latest song, “Icyizere,” delivers comfort and hope, reminding listeners that trusting in God provides strength through life’s toughest challenges. The lyrics resonate deeply: “Even if you are tried as dust is blown away, you get sick, lose loved ones, or are imprisoned, take heart—none of these will destroy you.”
This empowering song is written and performed by Theo Bosebabireba, who shared its purpose of inspiring young people with a passion for singing. In an interview with InyaRwanda, Theo said: “I am the one who wrote this song and also performed it.”
Theo explained his openness to collaboration, extending beyond Salomon Pierre to include anyone with dreams of pursuing music, regardless of their preferred genre. He highlighted his commitment to uplifting others aspiring to succeed in the music industry.
He stated: “The reason I agreed to collaborate with him is the same reason I would agree with anyone else. I offer that support to anyone who seeks to sing with me to help them rise up. Whether it’s writing songs or performing lyrics someone else has written, I have no issue, and I am confident in trying any musical genre.”
Theo Bosebabireba clarified that he does not impose difficult demands on those wishing to work with him. He emphasized, “That’s what happened in this case as well. I didn’t ask for anything complicated because it’s God’s work. My goal is to continue supporting young people who are singing. That’s the mission I’ve set for myself—to help anyone in need of such support, whether they’re new to music or experienced.”
The underlying message of “Icyizere” is about overcoming trials through unwavering faith. Theo believes that believers may face hardships but should always remain hopeful and secure in God’s guidance.
He conveyed: “The message I wanted to share in this song is to tell people that knowing God and serving Him, praying, living as a person of faith, avoiding sin and its semblances—all this, as Christians, especially for those who are born again, does not exempt you from facing challenges. I explicitly say that trials may blow over you like dust.”
He added: “I mention that you could get sick, be imprisoned, lose loved ones, and face all sorts of calamities because even the Bible states that the righteous face many troubles, but the Lord delivers them from all. I wanted to stress that no one should lose heart because salvation is near.”
