The Story behind the song "High Asfk" by Tyson Badness

Tyson Badness, a Tanzania-born artist based in Poland, released High Asfk, inspired by a girl he met, as he prepares a 12-track album.

Artist Tyson Badness, who works in Poland but is originally from Tanzania, released a song called High Asfk, saying that the inspiration for it came from a girl he met at a restaurant.

This artist started singing when he was a child, as he revealed in an interview with InyaRwanda.com Journalist on Phone Call. “I got into music back in primary school. I started singing at school ceremonies, and after school, I began performing in the streets. Music has always been a part of my life.” He said.

He released this song while he is preparing to release an album in the coming days that will consist of 12 songs including those he has collaborated with other artists.

This new song, he says, was inspired by a girl he met at a restaurant and admired.  “High asfk was inspired by a young girl who once came to the restaurant where I used to work. She was beautiful, but I couldn’t express my feelings to her. That moment stayed with me and became the story behind the song.”

“This song is different from my previous projects because I wanted to move away from my old producer and try something new. I was looking for a fresh sound and new energy… ” He said.

This song was produced by Pablo, and director MVS from Kraków, Poland.

Making music in Europe is very difficult!!

He says that making music in Europe is very difficult because people there prefer artists who were born there. “Being an artist in Poland is not easy because I’m from Africa, and Polish people usually prefer their own music and style. But I try to collaborate with Polish artists so they can see my talent and understand my sound.” He said.

He wants Africans to love his music because he wants to do it in a special way and never lose the african sound.  He says his favorite artists are Cesária Évora from Cape Verde and Stromae… “They inspire me a lot with their emotion and unique style.

His goal is to make music that will be loved by so many people that in the next two years he will be a world-famous artist. “So many people started showing interest in my work — that moment was really exciting for me.” He said.
