"The Dream", a new film streaming on Kigali Drama's YouTube Channel, continues to captivate audiences with its gripping story of love, devotion, and heartache. At the heart of the story is a young woman deeply in love with a man who does not share her feelings.
The man eventually replaces her with another woman and even moves in with his new partner. Yet, the young woman remains undeterred, persistently pursuing the man she has loved her entire life. Despite enduring painful acts aimed at pushing her away, she remains resolute, embodying unwavering devotion in a modern world.
During an interview with InyaRwanda TV, Mugwaneza Abdul, one of the creators of the film, shared insights into its inspiration. He explained that the film was inspired by observing today's societal dynamics, where material wealth often overshadows feelings. Abdul said, “The idea for this film came from real-life experiences that we see every day. I don’t know if it’s just changing times, but it’s evident that people prioritize wealth over love. Yet, there are still some individuals who hold onto genuine love.”
In addition, Rukundo Arnold Shaffy, a collaborator in the creation of the film, spoke about the complexities of modern relationships, drawing from his personal experiences. He commented, “Love nowadays is filled with complications, and I can personally vouch for that because I’ve lived through it. Most relationships today are built upon lies and money. It’s difficult to find someone who will truly love you if you don’t have money.”
The film "The Dream" is quickly gaining traction, with viewers resonating with its honest portrayal of modern love dilemmas. Streaming now on the Kigali Drama YouTube Channel, the first two episodes are already available, and the film is garnering widespread praise and a growing fanbase.
