In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Rwandan music star The Ben opened up about the evolution of his dreams, his unexpected path to music, and the deeper purpose he’s now exploring.
He shared: “When I was young, my dreams kept changing. At seven, I loved football and envisioned myself as a star player. By 12, I was dedicated to worship ministry, leading songs in my mom's church. Life continued to shift as I grew older.”
The Ben revealed that during high school, he decided to study Biochemistry under the influence of his friend, Tom Close, who inspired him to pursue medicine. However, Tom also introduced him to music—sparking a love for the art that changed his life forever.
He explained: “Music wasn’t a choice I made—it chose me. It’s as if God wrote a chapter of my life, and I hadn’t read it yet.”
The artist, cherished for his romantic melodies and uplifting messages, believes his music honors God’s intentions. “My songs build love and promote positive behaviors. I’m convinced that, from God’s perspective, I do nothing wrong,” he stated.
Recently, The Ben disclosed sensing a broader mission beyond his music. While unclear about specifics, he feels there’s a higher calling awaiting him.
He expressed: “I’m not sure yet what’s next for me, but I feel there’s a purpose bigger than just my love for singing. There’s a higher message I’m ready to hear and respond to.”

The Giants of Africa Festival, an eight-day celebration held in Rwanda for the first time, featured renowned international stars including Kizz Daniel, Ayra Starr, Timaya, and Sherrie Silver.
Representing Rwanda at the event, The Ben delivered a mesmerizing performance with the support of a 55-member team. On stage, he was accompanied by 30 dancers, 6 choir members for harmonizing vocals, and traditional Rwandan dancers from Ishyaka Intore.
Notable collaborations included MC Tino energizing the audience and Miss Rwanda 2021, Ingabire Grace, who danced to his hit single “Habibi.” Altogether, The Ben worked with 55 individuals to create a standout musical spectacle.
Speaking to Inyarwanda.com, The Ben attributed his success during the event to God’s blessings. “Once again, God showed His glory. None of this could happen without His divine favor,” he said.
