The prestigious race, which covers various regions across the country, will take place from February 22 to March 1, 2026. With only four days remaining before the competition begins, Coach Sempoma announced the final squad selected to compete.
The five riders are Patrick Byukusenge, Shadrack Ufitimana, Shemu Nsengiyumva, Etienne Tuyizere, and Eric Nkundabera. For Shadrack Ufitimana, this will mark his debut appearance at the Tour du Rwanda.
The national team’s technical staff includes Félix Sempoma as Head Coach, Obed Ruvogera as team doctor, and Théoneste Karasira as mechanic.
So far, among the international teams expected to participate, Rembe–Rad-Net from Germany has already arrived in Rwanda. Four other teams—Picnic, Lotto, Soudal, and Movistar Team—are scheduled to arrive on Thursday, February 19.
The 2026 edition will mark the 18th time the Tour du Rwanda is being held since it gained international status, further cementing its growing reputation on the global cycling calendar.
