On Sunday, Slovenian cycling sensation Tadej Pogacar secured his fourth Tour de France title, solidifying his dominance in the sport. Shortly afterward, he announced that he will not compete in the Vuelta a España, Spain’s renowned cycling race next month, to dedicate himself to preparing for the World Cycling Championship taking place in Kigali, Rwanda, this September.
The 26-year-old cyclist expressed his need for recovery time. Pogacar disclosed plans to participate in one-day cycling events in Quebec and Montreal, Canada, as a key part of his pre-championship training leading up to Kigali. These events will pave the way for what he hopes will be a strong performance in the globally anticipated championship.
He shared: “I am excited to return to Canada. These races are not only challenging but also highly rewarding, perfectly aligning with my racing style. My aim is to be at peak performance during this period and deliver my best at the World Championship.”
Tadej Pogacar, representing UAE Team Emirates, is gearing up to reclaim the World Cycling Championship title he previously secured in 2024.
Pogacar officially confirmed his participation in the World Cycling Championship, which will be hosted in Kigali, Rwanda, this September.
