The album "Confidence" was officially released on Wednesday night, September 3, 2025, following months of heightened anticipation from fans.
The delay in releasing the album stemmed from complications with the production studio. The studio was previously under investigation by Rwanda’s investigative body, RIB (Rwanda Investigation Bureau), leading to the seizure of equipment containing unfinished song projects.
In an interview with InyaRwanda, Social Mula shared his creative journey with this album. Initially, he planned to work on "Confidence" solo, refraining from featuring other artists. However, an unexpected encounter with Ugandan artist Feffe in the studio reshaped his plans.
Social Mula recounted: “I had envisioned producing an album without featuring other artists. But sometimes, things happen unexpectedly. For instance, I met Feffe while working in Uganda on a collaboration with Sylivie Wase. I was introduced to Feffe by his team, and after discussing ideas, he embraced the partnership quickly. It thrilled me since I was already a fan of his work."
Regarding collaborations with Rwandan rapper Ririmba, Social Mula explained that he initially aimed to team up with Ish Kevin. However, when the plan fell through, Ririmba became part of the project. He elaborated: “With Ririmba, it came about when I visited the studio and found him there with Ish Kevin. We had attempted several partnerships with Ish Kevin before, but circumstances didn’t align. So, we moved forward quickly with a new project."
Social Mula added: “While Ish Kevin was at the studio during recording, exhaustion overtook him, and he fell asleep. Ririmba impressed me with his melodies and brilliant ideas, so I asked him to contribute. The result exceeded my expectations, and we decided to complete the entire project together."
The artist emphasized that even though Ish Kevin missed out on this song due to timing, he still desires a future collaboration. He noted: “When Ish Kevin woke up early the next morning, the song was already finished. Nonetheless, collaborating with him remains one of my aspirations."
Social Mula had previously released the album "Ma Vie" on November 23, 2025. His latest project, "Confidence," showcases production by talented Rwandan producers such as Knox Beat, YewëeH, Pakkage, Iyzo Pro, and Bertzbeats. Fans were already treated to several songs from the album, including "Amora" and "Akana," ahead of its official release.
He further explained how "Confidence" differs significantly from his previous works. The album highlights themes of self-belief and personal growth, offering a fresh take on his artistry. Collaborations with artists from Rwanda and Uganda also enabled him to expand his musical horizons and connect emerging talents.
Social Mula originally intended to produce the album without featuring other artists but later found himself collaborating unexpectedly.
Although Ish Kevin missed contributing due to exhaustion, Social Mula remains optimistic about working with him in the future.
Social Mula expressed his enthusiasm for continuing collaborations with talented rappers, including Ririmba.
The album "Confidence" stands out as a unique creation reflecting personal growth and artistic evolution by Social Mula.
