The visit, which began yesterday, Saturday, was announced by the Ministry of Sports. Joining Minister Nelly Mukazayire on this trip is the acting head responsible for sports development and infrastructure monitoring.
Through the Tony Football Excellence Program, the visit aims to forge partnerships that nurture young talents while enhancing sports infrastructure. It also seeks to position Rwanda as a key partner for European clubs looking to invest in Africa.
According to information obtained by InyaRwanda, Benfica, a club playing in Portugal's top football league, is in negotiations to establish a large-scale sports infrastructure project in Remera.
President Kagame, while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of Minister Nelly Mukazayire and the State Secretary for Sports, Rwego Ngarambe, urged them to leverage sports as a viable business opportunity for economic growth.



Rwanda’s Minister of Sports is currently on an official visit to Portugal.
