Rwanda’s national football team, Amavubi, is set for two pivotal matches in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers. The team will host Benin on October 10th at Stade Amahoro, followed by their concluding match against South Africa on October 14th, 2025. This final qualifier will determine Amavubi’s chances of securing a place in the FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

The experienced coach, Adel Amrouche, has unveiled a 23-player squad ready to take on this crucial challenge and represent the nation with pride.

Notably, some players such as Samuel Gueulette, Hakim Sahabo Nshuro, and Niyigena Clement have not been included in this lineup. This decision aligns with the choices made during previous squad selections.

A standout inclusion is 31-year-old Joy-Lange Mickels, earning his first call-up to the national team. Mickels is currently playing for Sabah FK in Azerbaijan, adding international experience to Rwanda’s attacking options.

As it stands in Group C of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Amavubi is ranked fourth with 11 points. The team remains determined to make an international impact and boost their position in the standings.
