Rwandans in the UAE and Bahrain Urged to Register for Assistance

The Embassy of Rwanda in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has called on Rwandans currently in the country, as well as those in Bahrain, particularly those on tourism visits who are unable to leave, to register so they can receive assistance.

This was announced in a statement released by the Embassy on Wednesday through its social media platforms. The Embassy stated that it is closely monitoring the security situation in the Middle East, especially in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, where it is mandated to safeguard the interests of Rwandans living in or traveling to those countries.

The Embassy confirmed that, so far, all Rwandans in the UAE and Bahrain are safe, and there have been no reports indicating that any of them have encountered security-related problems.

It further noted that the Embassy team, together with relevant officials, is in close communication with Rwandans residing in these countries and is also working closely with the appropriate authorities there to ensure that necessary services are delivered on time and that Rwandans receive support at all times.

The Embassy urged all Rwandans to remain vigilant and to comply with the security guidelines issued by authorities in the countries where they are staying. It also advised them to avoid unverified information that could cause confusion.

In particular, Rwandans who are in these countries for tourism purposes and are unable to leave have been encouraged to register in order to receive assistance.

Several Middle Eastern countries, including Qatar, the UAE (including Dubai), Bahrain, and others, have temporarily closed their airspace due to escalating tensions, as Iran has launched attacks in areas where the United States has strategic interests following strikes it carried out in coordination with Israel.
