The much-anticipated friendly football match will unite fans of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona this Sunday at 2 PM at the SKOL pitch in Nzove.
Irenge Ntabala Samuel, known on X as Shemouel Ntabala, emphasized the event’s focus on fostering community unity and positivity. He noted that X users occasionally indulge in critical conversations, especially about celebrities. This match is intended to redefine this narrative as one rooted in love and togetherness.
Samuel shared, "The idea was inspired by observing how young individuals on X can be misunderstood. It's said we criticize celebrities too much, so we wanted to counter that image by creating an initiative based on love and positivity. While football is a common topic on X, it was clear we could rally people together through this sport."
After brainstorming the concept, organizers approached SKOL, a brand recognized for consistently supporting youth initiatives, and secured their sponsorship.
"SKOL graciously stepped in to support us. Their reputation as a sponsor of youth-related activities aligned perfectly with our vision. This recognition made them our ideal choice for partnership," Samuel elaborated.
In addition to sponsoring the event, the match will showcase fans from Real Madrid and FC Barcelona as active participants, given the global appeal of these clubs and the inclusivity they offer. Samuel assured attendees can look forward to encountering popular X personalities during the match.
Nshizirungu Prince, better known on X as 'Uzagende kuri moto,' highlighted how this gathering aims to bridge social gaps while spreading love.
"This match brings something unique: love, connection, and networking. Many X users don’t know each other personally, but this is an opportunity to meet and interact. Beyond connecting, it might pave the way for collective benefits and mutual help. The focus is on bonding, sharing, and forming partnerships," remarked Prince.
Marie Paul, SKOL's Commercial Marketing Officer, assured event-goers that essential refreshments would be available, ensuring no one suffers from hunger or thirst during the festivities.
She noted, "This match is all about socializing and enjoyment, especially for the youth engaging on X, though all Rwandans are warmly invited. We aim to create a space for entertainment, networking, and community strengthening."
Paul also teased several other attractions planned for the day, including musical performances and DJs to elevate the atmosphere.
Following the friendly match, Real Madrid and Barcelona fans will join in discussions tailored to enhance participant experiences and ideas.
