Rwandan officer Sous-Lieutenant Janet Uwamahoro graduates from the prestigious U.S. Coast Guard Academy, specializing in research and intelligence.

The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) announced that Sous-Lieutenant Janet Uwamahoro, a Rwandan military officer, successfully graduated from the prestigious U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London. The ceremony was attended by Col Deo Mutabazi, Military Advisor at Rwanda's Permanent Mission to the United Nations. This marked the academy's 144th graduation ceremony, showcasing its long-standing excellence since establishment.

Sous-Lieutenant Uwamahoro specialized in research and intelligence analysis during her studies, highlighting her promising contributions to Rwanda’s military expertise. Her dedication and success align with the academy’s reputation for molding capable leaders who serve with distinction.

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy, founded in 1876, was initially named the Revenue Cutter Service School of Instruction. It underwent name changes over the years, becoming the Revenue Cutter Academy in 1914, and adopting its current designation shortly thereafter. Located in New London, the academy trains approximately 250 graduates annually, solidifying its position as a leader in military education.
