Seninga Innocent, Rwanda’s experienced coach, signs a renewable one-year deal with Djibouti's AS Port, preparing them for the CAF Confederation Cup.

On Sunday, Rwandan football coach Seninga Innocent officially embarked on a new chapter by flying to Djibouti to become the head coach of AS Port. He signed a renewable one-year contract with the club, which highlights his growing stature in African football coaching.

AS Port is set to represent Djibouti in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup. The team recently discovered their first challenge: facing KMKM from Zanzibar in the preliminary round. If victorious, they will advance to clash against the winner of the matchup between El Merrikh Bentiu and Azam FC. This journey could mark a significant milestone for the club and their new coach.

Seninga Innocent's move to AS Port comes shortly after his resignation from Etincelles FC, a Rwandan club, due to a lack of formal agreement despite being offered the coaching position. This return to Djibouti marks his second stint in the country, having previously coached the Gendarmerie team for six months during the last football season.

Before embarking on his international career, Seninga was instrumental in shaping Rwandan football by managing several local clubs. His experience includes coaching Bugesera FC, Police FC, Etincelles FC, Musanze FC, and serving as the assistant coach for Rwanda’s national team, the "Amavubi."
