Rwandan and Ugandan Armies Unite in Musanze: Tree Planting and Friendly Match

Uganda triumphed over Rwanda 8-7 in penalties during a friendly football rematch in Musanze. The event fostered military camaraderie and partnership.

On Saturday, a friendly football match took place in Musanze District. The event began with a symbolic walking tour starting from the heart of Musanze town and culminating at Ubworoherane Stadium, a significant venue for fostering partnership.

Highlighting the friendship and cooperation between the armed forces of Uganda and Rwanda, trees were planted in front of Ubworoherane Stadium as a sign of unity and teamwork.

During the match, both teams fought hard, leading to a 1-1 draw in regular time. The intense game was decided through a penalty shootout, where Uganda's armed forces secured an 8-7 victory against Rwanda's military team.

This exciting fixture served as the return leg of an earlier encounter that took place in Ntungamo, Uganda, in May 2025. During the first game, Uganda's 2nd Division (UPDF) edged out Rwanda's 5th Division (RDF) with a tight 4-3 penalty shootout win.

These football matches are part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing camaraderie and strengthening the collaborative efforts between the armed forces of the two neighboring countries.
