The squad includes standout players such as Tetero Odile, Philoxy Destiney Promise, Mwizerwa Faustine, Micomyiza Rosine, Byukusenge Gkoriose, Uwimpuhwe Violette, Vanessa Camara, Sifa Ineza Joyeuse, Irakoze Ange Nelly, Jean Baptiste Irakoze Stephanie, Hampton Keishan Lavon, Uwizeye Assouma, Murekatete Bella, Butera Hope, and Cyuzuzo Rebecca. To ensure the team is well-prepared for the challenging games ahead, Rwanda's squad has spent weeks in Egypt playing extensive friendly matches to sharpen their skills and tactics. This preparation sets the stage for a competitive outing in Group A, where Rwanda faces Nigeria, the reigning champions, and Mozambique. The group promises an intense and challenging matchup as Rwanda fights for qualification.
In the last African Basketball Championship, held in Kigali in 2023, Rwanda achieved an impressive fourth-place finish, showcasing their growing strength on the continental level.
