On Saturday, November 15, 2025, the General Assembly of the Rwanda Premier League and its members took place at the prestigious Hotel de Mille Collines.
The notable attendees included FERWAFA President, Shema Ngoga Fabrice; Rwanda Premier League Chairman, Hadji Yussuf Mudaheranwa; Rwanda Premier League CEO, Jules Karangwa, and representatives from 15 out of the 16 top-tier football teams.
In an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda, Jules Karangwa disclosed key outcomes of the meeting, including the approval of a substantial budget of RWF 800 million for the Rwanda Premier League’s upcoming 2025/2026 season. He confidently stated, "This season, Rwanda Premier League will operate with an RWF 800 million budget."
Funding Sources for Rwanda Premier League’s RWF 800 Million Budget
Jules Karangwa detailed that the budget will be sourced through partnerships with sponsors, contributions from FERWAFA, and revenue generated from stadium activities.
According to Karangwa, "Out of the RWF 800 million, we’ve secured RWF 570 million already. This includes RWF 220 million from StarTimes, RWF 280 million from FERWAFA, and RWF 70 million from partners, which covers rewards and incentives for outstanding performances at games."
Additional funds are expected to come from ticket sales at FERWAFA-approved stadiums as well as earnings from digital broadcasting platforms showcasing matches.
Innovative Plans for Rwanda Football: Launching Online TV
To enhance the reach and promote league games, Jules shared exciting news about plans to launch a dedicated Online TV platform for streaming all matches. The platform aims to cater to both local and international fans starting early December 2025.
He assured, "If everything aligns well, by early December 2025, we’ll introduce an Online TV platform exclusively for streaming our league games. Subscribers will have access to the matches for affordable rates."
The Rwanda Premier League, already in its seventh week of gameplay, will pick up next week with Match Day 9 fixtures.
