The Conakry Sport Expo 2025, held from May 13 to May 14, brought together sports professionals, investors, journalists, artists, and government officials. The event aimed to exchange ideas on the vital role of sports in improving public welfare and driving economic growth.
Representing Rwanda’s vibrant culture, renowned musician Mani Martin played an active role in the event's activities. He headlined the closing concert of the expo, held on Wednesday, May 14, in Conakry, showcasing Rwanda's musical talent on an international platform.
Adding to the country's strong representation, Rwanda’s delegation included Ambassador Michael Sezibera, the official representative to Guinea, and Secretary of State for the Ministry of Sports, Rwego Ngarambe, who served as the event's esteemed guest of honor.
During his speech, Secretary of State Rwego Ngarambe affirmed Rwanda's dedication to contributing to sports development. “We are proud to share Rwanda’s expertise,” he noted, emphasizing the nation’s progress in elevating sports as a key sector for growth.
In an interview with Guinea-based media outlets such as Gabe Gabe TV, Rwego stated: “I’m pleased to be in Guinea. Rwanda and Guinea share a deep friendship, and sports play a central role in this connection. We are here to exchange experiences and collaborate on advancing sports as a significant economic sector that empowers our youth.”
Organized by FAM Business in partnership with Guinea’s government, the event chose Rwanda as its honored guest. Organizers praised Rwanda's remarkable achievements in sports development, citing its partnerships between government entities, private organizations, and international stakeholders.
Guinea’s Minister of Sports, Keamou Bogola Haba, highlighted the festival as a milestone for his country's vision of sports excellence. He said, “Sports and the business ecosystem surrounding it must evolve together. This time, we have brought together all key stakeholders — athletes, partners, journalists, and our Rwandan friends — to pave the way for a thriving and prosperous sports sector.”
The expo also hosted workshops for sports journalists, where they interacted with French sports analyst Philippe Doucet. Doucet commended Rwanda's exemplary role in Africa, calling it a model for sports development on the continent.
Musician Mani Martin, accompanied by guitarist Clement, actively participated in the expo, engaging with sports development stakeholders.
The multi-talented Mani Martin also took the opportunity to work on his upcoming album while attending the festival.
Expressing his passion for fusing culture and sports, Mani Martin shared, “Through my art, I aim to contribute to the narrative of how sports and culture can collaborate to drive community and national development.”
His electrifying concert symbolized the integration of arts and sports as powerful tools for Africa’s growth and unity.
Secretary of State Rwego Ngarambe highlighted the strong partnership between Rwanda and Guinea in advancing sports. “Our collaboration sets an example of how African nations can work together to promote sports," he noted.
Guinea’s organizers reiterated why they chose Rwanda as their honored guest, recognizing strides made in the sports sector through comprehensive strategies melding government endeavors, private sector involvement, and international partnerships.
