The venue for 'Icyumba cya Rap' will be revealed soon, but fans are encouraged to save the date as this highly anticipated event promises fresh energy and standout performances from Rwanda’s rap talent.
One of the leaders at MA Africa, the team behind the event, shared with InyaRwanda, "We are excited to collaborate with an amazing lineup of 5-10 rappers for this second edition. Discussions with some of them have already begun, and this year's event is set to showcase the growth of Rwanda's rap culture in a dynamic way."
He elaborated further: “Our goal is to host a distinctive concert that unites rappers with diverse gifts in rap. By attending, fans will not only enjoy incredible performances but also engage directly with the artists contributing to the evolution of rap in Rwanda. We are committed to organizing an outstanding lineup to elevate the experience.”
The inaugural edition of 'Icyumba cya Rap' featured top names in Rwanda’s rap scene, including Riderman, Bull Dogg, P Fla, Fireman, Diplomat, Green P, Jay C, Bushali, B-Threy, Zeotrap, Danny Nanone, Logan Joe, and Ish Kevin.
Initially scheduled for December 27, 2024, at Canal Olympia, the event was rescheduled to January 10, 2024, at Camp Kigali. This change ensured a better experience for attendees, especially following heavy rains that made Canal Olympia unsuitable.
During the first event, artists such as the Tuff Gang crew, Jay-C, and Diplomate wowed attendees and delivered unforgettable performances that solidified their reputations in Rwanda’s rap culture.
Over 10 rappers are already in discussions to perform at the upcoming 'Icyumba cya Rap' concert, signifying the growing excitement around its return.
