Apostle Dr. M. Rueal McCoy recently visited Rwanda to participate in the prestigious “ThanksGiving Conference,” hosted by Revival Palace Community Church (RPCC) in Bugesera from August 13–17, 2025. This year’s visit marked a special occasion as he was joined by his wife, showcasing his commitment to strengthening bonds with RPCC and Rwanda, a country he holds dear.
The spiritual leader expressed his profound sense of belonging whenever he visits Rwanda. He told Inyarwanda, "When I’m in Rwanda, I feel at home. It’s like I belong here; I feel a connection with Rwandans. That’s why I returned with my family. I want to continue building relations with Revival Palace Community Church and Rwanda in general."
Based in Florida, USA, Apostle McCoy praised Rwanda as a nation close to God’s heart. He shared, "Every time we come to Rwanda, we feel closer to God and see His presence in this nation. It’s truly a country that is dear to God."
He dispelled misconceptions about Rwanda that are widespread in the United States, calling the nation an exemplar of peace, security, and remarkable development under President Kagame's leadership.
He emphasized, "We hear many things about Rwanda, but most are inaccurate. What they teach us in America is often outdated information from the past. However, when you visit Rwanda and see its governance and how people live, you witness a stark difference—one defined by progress and remarkable development."
Apostle McCoy, alongside Bishop Dr. Daryl Forehand, served as key speakers at RPCC Bugesera’s ThanksGiving Conference 2025. Both leaders brought their spouses to experience Rwanda and its unique qualities as a nation favored by God.
Apostle McCoy remarked, "We brought our wives so they too could discover the truth about Rwanda and see its beauty as a country. We are delighted to spend time here in Bugesera and participate in this gathering to give thanks to God."
Pastor Dr. Ian Tumusiime, Senior Pastor of RPCC Bugesera and Director of A Light to the Nations Ministries Africa, commended Rwanda’s governance under President Kagame, stating, "We thank God for the exemplary leadership under President Paul Kagame, which shows God has blessed him with wisdom to lead a small but visionary country filled with brilliance."
Praising RPCC Bugesera’s 11-year milestone, Pastor Tumusiime recounted its challenges and victories. He remarked, "Marking 11 years as a church is a testament to God’s grace. We’ve battled our share of obstacles, like 'Goliaths.' Some faced accidents or sickness, but God kept protecting us. Now, we are gathered here to renew hope in people through thanksgiving."
The ThanksGiving Conference 2025 was an inspiring event, showcasing vibrant celebrations of faith. Centered on the theme "The Lord Has Done Great Things for Us" (Psalm 126:3), it featured sensational worship performances by acclaimed Gospel artist Injili Bora, known for "Shimwa," and El Shaddai Choir, recognized for their hit "Cikamo."
