On Thursday, October 16, 2025, Etienne officially unveiled his innovative project during a thesis presentation ceremony held at Mount Kenya University's campus in Kicukiro, Kigali City. The event marked a significant milestone in his academic journey as he submitted his Bachelor’s thesis, concluding three years of intensive studies at the Faculty of Business and ICT.
His final project, titled "Player Injury and Medical Assistance Linkage - A Case Study of the Rwanda Premier League," is a pioneering solution designed to streamline how injuries and medical histories of football players are tracked and managed within the Rwandan sports industry.
In an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda, the multi-talented 5K Etienne shared insights into his groundbreaking system. "This system addresses challenges faced by players encountering injuries on the field. I designed it to centralize all data about players so that anyone seeking information about a player can access their complete on-field record, including injury details, recovery timelines, treatment history, and more," he explained.
Etienne highlighted that his system leverages data to modernize football player injury management in Rwanda. "Players themselves can also use this system to update their injury records, linking to medical follow-ups conducted by their doctors. Additionally, the system includes an administrative feature for generating detailed reports. I developed this with a focus on the Rwanda Premier League," he added.
The potential applications of this system extend beyond players alone. Etienne mentioned its benefits to teams and agents, noting, "This system provides complete transparency about a player's injury history, enabling teams and agents to make informed decisions, thus reducing the risk of unknowingly signing players with underlying medical issues."
Etienne, who will formally graduate in August 2025, noted that his academic journey has prepared him to enter the professional world. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his friends, supporters, and followers who stood by him, both in his academic pursuits and entertainment career.
Known in the entertainment industry as 5K, Etienne emphasized the transformative role of technology in advancing Rwandan sports. He highlighted how his system addresses a critical challenge in football: effectively managing and securing player health data. "This is more than innovation; it's about fostering trust and efficiency in sports healthcare," he said.
