On its upcoming edition, several well-known figures from Rwanda’s entertainment scene are set to share the stage, including Ruti Joel, DJ Brianne, and Patrick Rusine.
The highly anticipated show is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026, and will take place at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village, commonly known as Camp Kigali—a venue famous for hosting major events and large public gatherings.
This edition is expected to be different from previous ones, as it will mark the first time DJ Brianne performs on a comedy stage alongside her colleague Tesha, with whom she co-hosts the popular YouTube talk show “Brianne Vlogue.” Their appearance is seen as a fresh and exciting addition to the comedy lineup.
For both Brianne and Tesha, this will be their first time participating in a comedy show, adding a new dimension to their usual media and content creation roles.
Ruti Joel, a well-known traditional music artist, will also be performing at Gen-Z Comedy for the first time. His participation highlights the show’s growing inclusivity, as it continues to welcome artists from different genres and backgrounds.
The comedy lineup will feature a strong group of performers, including MC Kandi and Musa, Clement Inkirigito, Umushumba, Pirate, Rumi, Muhinde, and Fally Merci, who will serve as the host of the event.
Patrick Rusine will also return to the comedy stage, where he is expected to combine his well-known humor with his background in media.
Over the past few years, Gen-Z Comedy has significantly transformed Rwanda’s entertainment scene by creating a platform where young people can gather, relax, and enjoy live comedy. It has become a space that promotes laughter, connection, and cultural expression in today’s fast-paced lifestyle.
Beyond comedy, the event has also grown into a platform for discovering new talent and connecting audiences with entertainers in a more interactive way.
Fans of the show say it provides a much-needed escape from daily stress, offering a joyful environment where people can relax and socialize.
The May 7, 2026 edition is expected to further strengthen Gen-Z Comedy’s legacy, as its continued blending of musicians, DJs, and comedians on one stage remains a signature feature that attracts large audiences.
