Richard Nick Ngendahayo expresses thanks for President Kagame’s visionary leadership

Richard Nick Ngendahayo, a Rwandan Gospel legend and an ex-RPA soldier, lauds Rwanda’s transformation and President Kagame's leadership during his visit to the Genocide Memorial in preparation for the “Niwe Healing Concert.”

On Monday, November 11, 2025, Richard Nick Ngendahayo, accompanied by his wife and team preparing for the “Niwe Healing Concert,” visited the Genocide Memorial housed at the Parliamentary Building in Kimihurura. This site stands as a reminder of Rwanda’s journey while honoring the lives lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

During his tour of the memorial, Ngendahayo revisited key historical moments he had lived through as a member of the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA), the forces which courageously ended the Genocide. Reflecting on the sacrifices and the profound results of the efforts, he shared his pride in Rwanda's remarkable recovery and growth.

In an interview with InyaRwanda TV, Richard Nick Ngendahayo expressed heartfelt gratitude for the country’s progress. He praised his comrades’ bravery, emphasizing that the sacrifices made during the struggle were not in vain but instead seeded Rwanda's bright future.

Ngendahayo also took time to commend the enduring leadership of President Paul Kagame, describing his contributions as instrumental in fostering Rwanda's transformation into a vibrant, progressive, and united nation.

“All the progress we see today is because of President Kagame. He is an extraordinary person. It’s not an exaggeration when Rwandans speak highly of him repeatedly. The wisdom he possesses is truly a gift from God,” Ngendahayo remarked.

Delving deeper, he shared his admiration for President Kagame’s humility and clear vision for Rwanda's future: “He leads with clarity, instructing on what should and shouldn’t be done to ensure Rwanda never slips back into its tragic past. His leadership is extraordinary.”

Ngendahayo went on to highlight Rwanda's achievements under President Kagame's guidance, noting that it has become a global benchmark for development and environmental cleanliness. He likened Rwanda's cleanliness and orderliness to that of a well-maintained home whose reflection speaks volumes about its caretaker.

“When you arrive at someone’s home and see that it’s clean, orderly, and well-maintained, it reflects the owner. His Excellency, the President of Rwanda, deserves credit. I pray to God to continually protect him, granting him long life along with his family,” he added.

Having lived in the United States for 17 years, Richard Nick Ngendahayo's return to Rwanda marks a significant moment. He is currently preparing for the much-anticipated gospel event titled “Niwe Healing Concert,” scheduled to take place at BK Arena on November 29, 2025. Tickets are available for purchase at www.ticqet.rw.
