The Kabarondo Evangelical Crusade, led by Baho Global Mission with support from RIC Kabarondo [Rwanda Inter-Religious Council], unfolded from August 29-31, 2025, at Rusera Field in Kayonza District. This transformative event, themed “Evangelical Crusade for Freedom and Salvation,” welcomed world-renowned preachers, including Evangelist Alejandro (USA), Bishop Dr. Stephen Mutua (Kenya), Evangelist Ren Schuffman (USA), and Evangelist Chance Walters (USA).
Adding a musical dimension to the event were performances by acclaimed gospel artists such as Theo Bosebabireba, Gaby Kamanzi, Kabarondo Praise Team, and distinguished choirs. Their electrifying performances resonated deeply, further solidifying Rwanda's love for uplifting gospel music. Despite earlier confirmations, Tanzanian gospel sensation Rose Muhando did not attend—a notable surprise from this dynamic three-day conference.

The event recorded a remarkable level of participation
Rwanda Shima Imana (Rwanda Praise God), a nationwide celebration of gratitude, was the emotional centerpiece of the Kabarondo Crusade. Rev. Baho Isaie declared, “From Friday to Sunday, we celebrate Rwanda Praise God week. We thank our Lord for guiding us through challenges to achieve 31 years of peace and prosperity. Clap your hands in praise!”
Attendees also reflected upon Rwanda’s remarkable journey by visiting the Genocide Memorial honoring victims of the Tutsi Genocide. The visit profoundly impacted all present, with the speakers expressing their admiration for the nation's incredible transformation under President Kagame's leadership. They applauded Rwanda’s progress, from its challenging past to its promising present.
Supporting community well-being, organizers rewarded Kayonza football teams for their involvement in a local tournament. Cyabajwa Village, the winning team from Kabarondo Sector, received a trophy, playing gear, and a financial prize. Moreover, Baho Global Mission donated materials to construct 65 latrines and provided health insurance for 500 participants, together valued at 2,020,000 RWF.
Evangelist Alejandro inspired attendees with his powerful testimony of survival and divine intervention. “I am here today to share the story of Jesus. He is alive, He is love, and He has the power to heal,” he proclaimed. At just eight years old, Alejandro survived a fatal illness doctors deemed incurable. He affirmed, “I am walking proof of God’s miracles. Jesus healed me of cancer, and He can heal you too.”

Rev. Baho Isaie received accolades from Kayonza District officials for organizing such a significant event. Underscoring the crucial role of ethical leadership, he remarked, “This milestone wouldn’t be possible without effective leadership. Today is a day to honor God and His blessings.”
The memorable crusade also prioritized public health awareness with activities like drug abuse prevention campaigns, screenings for non-communicable illnesses, and distributing health insurance coverage. Local authorities stated, “These initiatives, such as educating residents to avoid harmful habits like substance abuse, nurture both physical and emotional health. With a sound body and mind, communities prosper.”
Faith and music blended beautifully as attendees worshipped through soulful performances by Theo Bosebabireba and Gaby Kamanzi. Theo performed for two days, while Gaby delighted the audience with a diverse repertoire, including “Hari Impamvu” by Israel Mbonyi and “You Are Holy” by Hillsong Worship.
Rose Muhando’s absence raised questions. Rev. Baho explained that despite confirming her attendance, sharing videos, and giving assurances, Muhando did not appear. He acknowledged, “Rose assured us she would be here. She shared videos and audios confirming it. By Friday, though, she was absent, and even by Sunday, we have no clear explanation. If she encountered challenges, we pray for her well-being. Meanwhile, we thank God for those who joined us.”
This isn’t the first instance of Muhando missing events in Rwanda. In 2014 and 2015, she canceled appearances at Evangelist Wilde Jennifer’s crusades, citing health concerns and remaining undisclosed reasons. After performing in Rwanda in 2022 and 2023, her absence from the highly anticipated 2025 gathering came as a surprise.
