As the 2024/25 Rwandan Premier League season nears its end with just three matches remaining, a fierce title race is unfolding between archrivals Rayon Sports and APR FC. The teams are separated by a single point, with Rayon Sports leading the table with 59 points while APR FC closely follows with 58 points.
In a move to ensure fairness and eliminate potential strategic advantages based on result timing, the league organizers have decided that all remaining matches involving these two teams will now be played on the same day and at the same hour. This adjustment aims to uphold integrity in the title race.
Initially, Bugesera FC was set to host Rayon Sports, the current league leaders, this Saturday at 6:00 PM, while APR FC was scheduled to play Gorilla FC at the Kigali Pelé Stadium at the same time. However, the matches have now been rescheduled to 3:00 PM to ensure they take place simultaneously.
Still, challenges remain. Should both teams stay locked in their battle for supremacy until the final match day, logistical complexities could arise. In that scenario, the games for these title contenders may need to move to Kigali, potentially at the iconic Amahoro Stadium. It’s important to note that this adjustment applies exclusively to teams competing for the championship and not to those grappling with relegation.

Rayon Sports and APR FC will now compete simultaneously in their remaining fixtures to maintain fairness in the gripping title race.
