On Thursday, the blue-and-white Rayon Sports team held an intensive training session in preparation for the highly anticipated 8th-round clash in the Rwandan Premier League against AS Kigali. The match is set to kick off on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Kigali Pele Stadium.
In a special highlight, Ndindi Baudouin Ribakare, a celebrated former coach from Burundi and a current instructor, joined the training to elevate spirits and share his expertise. He was invited by Haruna Ferouz, Rayon Sports’ interim coach, to offer insights that capture the club’s essence and the intricacies of football strategy at a professional level.
Haruna Ferouz stated: "He [Ribakare] has coached many notable figures, including some now working as coaches in Europe. I am privileged to have been one of his trainees during the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 1995."
Ferouz continued: "Ribakare’s experience in Rwandan football is invaluable. I asked him to help identify areas for improvement in our training sessions and to ignite a sense of pride among players. Through his advice and discussions, he helped the team grasp the deeper meaning of Rayon Sports and the significance of the club’s iconic blue-and-white colors."
Currently, Rayon Sports ranks second on the league table with 13 points. However, the team is determined to bounce back after a tough 3-0 defeat to arch-rival APR FC.
