Renowned gospel artist Prosper Nkomezi, celebrated for soul-stirring tracks like "Sinzahwema," "Urarinzwe," "Humura," "Ibasha Gukora," "Singitinya," and "Nzayivuga," is marking ten years in gospel music with exciting new plans and reflections on his impactful journey.
Over the last decade, Nkomezi has produced four albums: "Sinzahwema," "Nzakingura," "Nyigisha," and is now gearing up to release his fifth album, "Warandamiye." This much-anticipated album is set for release on October 23, 2025, followed by a grand Gala Night for its official launch on October 24, 2025. This event promises to be a special celebration with selected fans in attendance.
Reflecting on his journey, Prosper Nkomezi shared three pivotal aspects he treasures deeply. He expressed, "I am grateful that God entrusted me to be a channel through which His message reaches and uplifts many souls across the world."
He acknowledged the personal transformation gospel music has brought to his life, saying, "Music connected me with many impactful people and truly changed my life." Nkomezi emphasized the fulfillment of witnessing lives changed through his songs, adding, "The greatest joy has been seeing thousands receive salvation, others find upliftment, and even the sick healed through the message of Christ shared in my music."
In an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda, he voiced a heartfelt prayer: "I constantly pray to witness miracles, not just hear testimonies. I dream of seeing those with disabilities stand and walk, diseases healed, and countless souls surrender to Christ through worship led by gospel artists."
As one of Rwanda’s most beloved gospel artists, Nkomezi advised fellow musicians to "allow God to use us according to His will rather than ours."
Born into a Christian family, Prosper Nkomezi honed his musical talent early, mastering the piano as a child. He began singing in ADEPR choir before transitioning to Zion Temple, where he officially embarked on his music career in 2016 at its Rwamagana branch. Artists who have inspired him include Benjamin Dube, Gentil Misigaro, and Aime Uwimana. A childhood moment he recalls with fondness is when he creatively amplified radio music using a water-filled jerrycan—an experience he now views as a sign of his future in music.
Looking ahead, Prosper Nkomezi plans to host an unforgettable concert to celebrate a decade in gospel music. He revealed, "Next year, I turn 10 years in music, and I plan to host a very big concert." While details remain under wraps, it is expected to be a groundbreaking event.
Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for his upcoming album titled "Warandamiye." This album carries a powerful message reminding believers of God’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling His promises. The exclusive "Gala Dinner & Album Launch" is scheduled for October 24, 2025, at Ubumwe Grande Hotel, starting at 5:30 pm.
