Prosper Nkomezi, a celebrated gospel artist, grew up in a Christian family where he developed his musical talent early, particularly in playing the piano. His entry into gospel music started in the ADEPR church choir and later transitioned to Zion Temple.
Nkomezi officially began his music career in Rwamagana with Zion Temple in 2016, marking 9 years committed to inspiring worship and praise through his songs. He credits Benjamin Dube, Gentil Misigaro, and Aime Uwimana as significant musical influences.
From his childhood, Nkomezi's passion for music was evident. He reminisces about creatively placing a radio inside a broken jug to amplify the sound—a heartfelt indication of his connection to music from a young age.
Over the years, Nkomezi has become synonymous with transformative songs including "Sinzahwema," "Urarinzwe," "Humura," "Ibasha Gukora," "Singitinya," and "Nzayivuga," which resonate deeply with audiences in Rwanda and beyond.
His melodies inspire spiritually and emotionally, touching countless lives. Across his decade-long career in gospel music, Nkomezi has produced four albums: "Sinzahwema," "Nzakingura," "Nyigisha," and the highly anticipated "Warandamiye," set to launch on October 23, 2025. A Gala Night scheduled for October 24, 2025, will celebrate the album, offering dedicated fans an exclusive experience.
In an interview with InyaRwanda, Nkomezi disclosed ambitious plans for celebrating his 10-year milestone with a grand concert in 2026. He stated, "Next year marks my 10th year in music, and I plan to organize a major concert to commemorate this achievement."
While precise details remain undisclosed, sources reveal that this concert will be an iconic event likely to set a new benchmark in gospel music history. Reflecting on his impactful career, Nkomezi—known for his heartfelt collaboration "Umusaraba" with Israel Mbonyi—expressed gratitude for the lives transformed through his music.
He shared, "I thank God for using my songs to touch souls. Thousands have found salvation, been spiritually uplifted, and even experienced physical and emotional healing. My music connects people with Christ, and I’m blessed by the amazing relationships I've built along this journey."
Nkomezi’s newly released song "Ntukoza Isoni," the sixth track on his upcoming album "Warandamiye," reinforces his message of unwavering faith in God’s promises. He explained, "This song reminds listeners that God watches over His word until it is fulfilled. Trusting in Him never disappoints." He revealed that "Ntukoza Isoni" was penned in 2016, revisited in 2025, and officially released this year.
