President Kagame Swears In New Prime Minister and Cabinet Members

President Kagame led the swearing-in of Rwanda's new government at the Parliamentary Building. Prime Minister Dr. Nsengiyumva Justin pledged dedication to Rwanda’s progress.

On Friday, July 25, 2025, President Kagame presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Rwanda's new government, held at the Parliamentary Building. While the event marked a significant moment in Rwanda’s leadership transition, not all members of the new government were present. Notable absentees included the Minister of Defense, Juvenal Marizamunda, and the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Consolée Uwimana, both engaged in work-related commitments abroad. These officials will take their oaths at a later date.

During the ceremony, the newly appointed Prime Minister, Dr. Nsengiyumva Justin, expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Kagame for entrusting him with this pivotal role. In his speech, addressed to attendees and the Rwandan people, he stated: “I want to sincerely thank the President of the Republic of Rwanda for the trust he has placed in me. I assure you that I fully understand the weight of these responsibilities and their importance in enhancing the well-being of citizens and the development of our country.” This commitment highlighted the government’s focus on advancing Rwanda’s prosperity.
