On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, FC Bayern Munich hosted Paris Saint-Germain at Allianz Arena in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but PSG advanced to the final thanks to their 5-4 victory in the first leg, securing a 6-5 aggregate win.
Following the match, President Kagame took to X to congratulate PSG, one of Rwanda’s “Visit Rwanda” partners. He also wished both PSG and Arsenal good luck ahead of the final, noting that football fans can expect a thrilling encounter between the two sides. Both clubs are partners in promoting Rwanda’s tourism campaign through the “Visit Rwanda” brand.
In his message, he wrote: "Congratulations to #VisitRwanda partner PSG on reaching the UEFA Champions League Final after an impressive run. Wishing both finalist teams [PSG and Arsenal] the very best in what promises to be a great final!".
Defending champions PSG will face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League 2025/2026 final scheduled for May 30, 2026, at Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
PSG have won the Champions League once, while Arsenal are still chasing their first-ever European crown. However, the English side previously reached the final once before, a historic achievement that came 20 years ago.
