Portable Tournament 2025: Uniting Movie Actors and Media Personalities Through Pool Table

Discover the 'Portable Tournament 2025,' connecting filmmakers, media personalities, and comedians in a thrilling Pool Table competition. Win up to Rwf 1 million!

The “Portable Tournament” will kick off on July 1, 2025, promising a unique and entertaining event filled with camaraderie and competition. Organized by Samu from Zuby Comedy, this event is designed to bring together professionals from diverse fields, focusing on performers and media personalities.

The tournament features two exciting teams. The filmmakers' team boasts eight players: Seth, Nyaxo, Mitsutsu, Dr Nsabi, Regis, Samu (Zuby Comedy), Remyboy, and James (also from Zuby Comedy).

On the other side, the journalists and MCs' team includes six prominent figures: Muvunyi (3D TV), Babu Rugemana (Isibo TV), MC Tino (Royal FM), Taikuni Ndahiro (Radio TV10), Rusine Patrick (Kiss FM), and MC Nario (Sky FM).

Samu, the tournament organizer, expressed his vision to InyaRwanda: "This event is a platform for artists, journalists, and comedians to bond while honing their Pool Table skills—a popular activity among them for recreation."

Pool Table Game Basics

Pool Table is a strategic game played on a specialized table where two or more players aim to pocket 15 numbered balls: seven solid-colored balls (1–7), seven striped balls (9–15), and the final black ball (number 8).

Each player selects solids or stripes and works to clear their chosen balls first. The black ball represents the final shot; sinking it after clearing all designated balls secures victory. However, sinking the black ball too early leads to immediate loss.

The game requires precision, strategic planning, and skillful execution, captivating both players and viewers as they immerse in the action.

The stakes are high in this tournament, with generous prizes awaiting the champions: First place will claim Rwf 1 million, second place Rwf 500,000, and third place Rwf 300,000.

Samu revealed that the Portable Tournament is envisioned as an annual event. It aims to unite professionals from diverse sectors such as media, the arts, comedy, and filmmaking, while fostering connections and promoting playfulness.

“This initiative focuses on advancing the Pool Table game and connecting people within the entertainment industry. Despite being the debut edition, we aim to expand this event annually and eventually take it to other regions,” he stated.

The Portable Tournament 2025 promises to stand out as one of the most exhilarating entertainment competitions, blending creativity, skill, and economic opportunity. Participants include some of the most notable figures from cinema and media.
