Ugandan star Weasel and partner Sandra Teta reconcile after a public feud in Kampala. Fans debate the couple's turbulent yet enduring relationship.

Last week, Ugandan musician Weasel and his partner Sandra Teta were at the center of a heated dispute at a Kampala nightclub. Reports indicate that Sandra allegedly collided with Weasel’s car during the incident.

Sources such as Big Eye and Howwe.Ug revealed that Uganda Police traced the altercation back to unresolved issues between the couple. These tensions, reportedly building up for a week, erupted into the public spotlight. Fans of Weasel voiced their frustrations, perplexed by the recurring conflicts that characterize the couple’s love story.

As emotions settled, intervention from Weasel’s elder brother, legendary musician Jose Chameleone, resulted in a family meeting aimed at addressing the couple’s differences.

During this meeting, Sandra Teta apologized sincerely, acknowledging that uncontrollable anger had fueled her actions. Known for his forgiving personality, Weasel accepted her apology, signaling a hopeful new chapter for their relationship.

The episode stirred public discourse, with many debating the future of Weasel and Sandra’s romance—a relationship long scrutinized due to its dramatic highs and lows.

Nevertheless, social media soon showcased heartfelt moments of the couple's reconciliation. Viral clips captured Sandra attentively caring for Weasel, who currently uses a wheelchair and crutches, at their home in Makindye–Kizungu, Kampala. These endearing visuals strongly hint at their renewed harmony.

The couple’s history is dotted with recurring disputes, yet they consistently find ways to reunite and preserve their bond.

Weasel, born in Kampala, Uganda, in 1986, boasts impressive musical roots. As the younger brother of celebrated East African artists Dr. Jose Chameleone and Pallaso, his trajectory in the music industry seemed predestined.

Weasel’s musical journey began as a backup singer for Jose Chameleone during the late 2000s. However, his breakthrough came in 2008 when he teamed up with rapper Mowzey Radio to form the dynamic duo Radio & Weasel, transforming Kampala’s music scene.

With their debut hit “Nakudata” (2008), followed by chart-toppers like “Ngenda Maaso,” “Zuena,” “Bread & Butter,” and “Nyambura,” the pair solidified their reputation as trailblazers in East African music.

Radio & Weasel achieved international acclaim by collaborating with icons such as PJ Powers (“Home to Africa”), R. Kelly (Coke Studio Africa project), and 2Face Idibia. Their 2013 hit “Can’t Let You Go” further cemented their fame across Africa.

The duo became the first Ugandan artists nominated for the 2013 BET Awards in the category Best International Act – Africa.

Operating as the Goodlyfe Crew, Radio & Weasel built an enduring legacy in Uganda’s music industry, producing numerous hits despite occasional managerial disputes.

Tragedy struck on February 1, 2018, when Mowzey Radio succumbed to injuries from a nightclub altercation at De Bar in Entebbe. His untimely death dealt a major blow to Radio & Weasel, as Radio was the group’s primary songwriter and vocalist.

Solely bearing the mantle, Weasel persisted in using the Radio & Weasel name to honor their legacy. While focusing on solo projects post-2018, he often performs at tributes commemorating Radio’s rich contributions.

Weasel remains a pivotal figure in East African music, celebrated for his role in shaping Uganda’s musical landscape.

His accolades include MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) for Best African Duo/Group (2010), Channel O Music Video Awards, HiPipo Music Awards, and many more, highlighting his enduring impact.

An innovator of Afrobeat, Dancehall, and RnB in Uganda, Weasel continues to influence the region's music scene.

However, following Radio’s death, Weasel has faced criticism for losing his artistic focus and grappling with personal challenges such as domestic disputes and alcohol misuse.

Determined, the artist strives to rebuild his music career, though recognition equal to his Radio & Weasel days remains elusive.

Still, Weasel stands as a symbol of resilience and influence, eternally linked to the legacy of his iconic duo and their timeless hits.
