Rwandan artists embarked on an extraordinary journey on Monday, July 1, 2025, leaving Kigali for Kansai, Japan. The group arrived on July 2, and began immediate preparations for performances set to captivate global audiences at Expo 2025.
Massamba Intore shared his pride about Rwanda's involvement in this global exhibition, describing it as a prestigious opportunity. He stated, "It is a significant privilege to represent our country, showcasing our rich culture and the legacy of the Intore (traditional warriors) on this international platform. Visitors will experience the true essence of Rwanda."
He explained his decision to forgo participation in the Rwanda Convention USA event, citing his commitment to accompany the Urukerereza cultural troupe in their significant representation of Rwanda at Expo 2025.
Hosted in Osaka’s Kansai region, Expo 2025 is anticipated to draw over 28 million people during its six-month span from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
Themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” Expo 2025 promotes collaboration, innovation, and multicultural exchange among nations, organizations, and development institutions. Its focus revolves around key themes like technological advancements, preserving global health, and cultural dynamism.
On Friday, July 4, 2025, Rwanda will shine during its dedicated National Day performance. This significant day enables participating countries to spotlight their cultural heritage, host distinguished guests, and welcome Expo attendees to immerse themselves in vivid traditions.
