On Monday evening, Rwandan goalkeeper Ntwari Fiacre officially announced his departure from South Africa's renowned football club, Kaizer Chiefs. Through his social media platforms, he thanked everyone he worked with during his time there and reflected on the meaningful experiences he gained.
He shared: "A great year filled with valuable lessons in life. I thank everyone I worked with; it was truly meaningful. God made this possible and will make other things happen (Luke 1:37). Thank you so much, Amakhosi family."
After just one year at Kaizer Chiefs, one of South Africa's most popular football clubs, Ntwari Fiacre and the club parted ways. The move comes after the club spent over 400 million Rwandan Francs to secure him from TS Galaxy during the summer transfer window last year.
Although Ntwari initially earned a spot in the starting lineup upon his arrival, he soon lost his position due to accusations of errors that cost the team important matches. Struggling to regain his footing, he found it increasingly difficult to secure even a place on the substitutes’ bench.
In recent months, Adel Amrouche, the head coach of Rwanda’s national team, revealed in the South African publication FAR Post that Ntwari Fiacre had attracted interest from several clubs, including teams in France.
Ntwari Fiacre, who has been the first-choice goalkeeper for the Rwandan national team—the Amavubi—leaves Kaizer Chiefs with a domestic cup victory under his belt. His football journey began at APR FC, followed by stints with Marine FC, and later AS Kigali. In 2023, he joined TS Galaxy before transferring to Kaizer Chiefs.
