From Thursday, July 31 to Sunday, August 3, 2025, Namibia hosted the Pupkewitz Megabuild Windhoek Women Tour, a prestigious cycling event classified under level 2.2.
After Nirere Xaverine seized victory in the third stage, establishing an impressive gap of 9 minutes and 49 seconds over her closest competitor, she solidified her status as the favorite to win the entire tour.
In yesterday's final stage, she finished in fourth place while retaining her yellow jersey, ultimately securing the overall championship title for the Pupkewitz Megabuild Windhoek Women Tour.
In total, Nirere Xaverine completed the race in 7 hours, 18 minutes, and 42 seconds. Her teammate Merhawit, from Team Amani, followed closely in second place, clocking in at 7 hours, 28 minutes, and 37 seconds.
Valentine Nzayisenga from Team Rwanda achieved an 18th-place finish, while other Team Rwanda members—Martha Ntakirutimana, Diane Ingabire, Josiane Mukashema, and Charlotte Iragena—secured 20th, 23rd, 27th, and 37th positions, respectively.
Following her landmark victory in Namibia, Nirere Xaverine expressed her gratitude and highlighted the collaborative effort behind her success.
She shared, “I am incredibly happy to win this challenging race. My teammates and I worked hard to achieve this victory. In the penultimate stage, I pushed myself to create a time gap, which made today's race more manageable for us.”
She went on to note that this win further motivates her as she prepares for upcoming competitions, particularly the World Championships scheduled to take place in Kigali.
