Muyoboke Alex shares deeply emotional memories of his late mother, reflecting on her love, faith, life lessons, and lasting legacy, as his family prepares for her burial in Gatsibo.

Muyoboke Alex honors the legacy of his late mother Judith, recounting her love, faith, and impactful life as his family commemorates her journey. The burial is set for August 17, 2025, in Gatsibo District.

Muyoboke Alex, the seventh child in his family, shared cherished memories of his mother during a remembrance evening on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The event was held in Niboye, Kicukiro District, at the home where his mother spent significant time recovering from the illness that ultimately claimed her life.

Grateful for his sister's support, Muyoboke expressed profound appreciation for her family's presence, stating, “Thank you for being there for Mama.” He reminisced about his mother’s strong faith, noting, “She prayed all the time and introduced me to the concept of God.” This spiritual connection was a cornerstone of her life and legacy.

Reflecting on her final days, Muyoboke recalled receiving a call from his sister on Sunday evening, August 10, 2025, informing him of his mother's deteriorating health. “Mama is in critical condition because her illness has worsened,” she warned.

Muyoboke anxiously rushed to CHUK (University Teaching Hospital of Kigali) but faced challenges while driving. When he arrived, he was met with the heartbreaking news that his mother had passed away.

Thoughts of her wishes filled his mind, as Muyoboke recounted how she longed to see her eldest grandchild married and building a family—a wish she fortunately witnessed fulfilled. He shared, “She saw them married and with a child, a dream that came true.”

Music was her solace, and she had asked that songs be played during her farewell ceremony because of her love for singing. Muyoboke remembered her saying, “The things I have done for others, make sure they are done for me as well.” This request mirrored her generosity and joyfulness throughout her life.

Seeking peace and strength for his family, Muyoboke prayed for comfort, emphasizing his mother’s remarkable ability to connect with people. “Mama truly loved others,” he remarked. Reflecting on her social nature, he added, “She always introduced herself, sharing her story and remembering everyone’s names.” His own ability to nurture relationships, he believes, stems from her influence.

The family is preparing for her burial, which is scheduled for August 17, 2025, in Gatsibo District (Mutara area). Muyoboke also shared poignant memories of his childhood, reminiscing about moments of discipline from his mother.

He revealed that she was the one who punished him the most—a period during which he sought refuge at his grandfather's home. Yet he fondly appreciates the lessons she instilled in him, recognizing their role in shaping his life. “Her guidance built me into the person I am today,” he said.

A heartfelt tribute to his mother, Muyoboke Alex described Judith as a woman renowned for her love, compassion, and harmonious personality. Her legacy continues to inspire those who knew her.
