Miss Muyango, Anita Pendo, Phil Peter, Alicia & Germaine Among Africa Content Creator Awards Winners

The prestigious awards ceremony took place on July 16, 2026, at Onomo Hotel Kigali, recognizing outstanding creators, media personalities, artists, and innovators for their contributions to Africa's creative industry.

Among the notable Rwandan winners were Miss Uwase Muyango, who was crowned Miss Photogenic at Miss Rwanda 2019 and is a former Isibo TV presenter; Anita Pendo, a media personality currently with Kiss FM and formerly of the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA);

Celebrated gospel duo Alicia & Germaine; veteran journalist Phil Peter; acclaimed actor Clapton Kibonge, one of the leading figures in Rwanda's film industry; Kigali Protocol; Ashton Small, and several other distinguished content creators.

Beyond the awards, the event featured insightful panel discussions on the growth of Africa's creative economy and the future of content creation. The sessions were led by industry experts, including Sylvie Sugira and Mugabo Julius from Rwanda, Shali Ahmed from Uganda, and Ogpee and Chioma from Nigeria.

More than 40 award categories were presented during the ceremony, highlighting excellence across various fields of content creation.

The event also showcased African fashion, with collections presented by designers Juelia Monalisant of Rwanda, Joy Ubeku of Nigeria, Wahid Abubakar of Sierra Leone, and Mideli Kanyarwanda of Rwanda.

Guests were entertained by performances from Espoir La Tigresse of Sierra Leone, Mungu Feni and Danra from Uganda, as well as Rwanda's Boni Shy and Prince BA, among other performers.

The evening was further enlivened by an energetic dance performance from a Ugandan dance troupe, which captivated the audience.

Speaking after receiving their awards, several winners described the continental recognition as a great honor, saying it motivates them to continue producing high-quality content while inspiring other African creators to pursue excellence on the international stage.

Addressing the audience, Africa Content Creator Awards founder Abitije Seraphin Elise thanked everyone who attended, especially guests who had traveled from across Africa, assuring them that Rwanda will always welcome them.
