During an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda.com, Miss Laura Sarah shared her journey and experiences after attending the remarkable ceremony that chose the top 15 finalists of the Rwanda Global Diversity contest.
Miss Laura Sarah, who was honored as Miss Rwanda Global Diversity in 2023, revealed how winning the esteemed title unlocked new opportunities, connecting her with diverse communities and empowering her to compete in the Africa Golden International contest, where she triumphed as the second runner-up.
She elaborated on her purpose-driven participation, showcasing three impactful projects. Two of these projects have already been successfully executed, while the third project—focused on environmental sustainability—remains under development due to pending resources and partnerships.
Miss Laura Sarah highlighted, “I had three projects, and I’ve proudly completed two. The first initiative aimed at helping underprivileged families through meaningful collaborations. My second project targeted empowering young people, particularly young girls, to embrace their self-worth, gain confidence, and foster independence rather than relying on external support.”
She added, “My final project involves tree planting, which is still under evaluation. It requires collaboration with stakeholders and identifying suitable locations to bring this initiative to life.”
Her achievements shone brighter during the grand gala held on Sunday evening, December 1, 2024, at Lagos's vibrant Lekki Center Hall. This high-profile event culminated in Miss Laura Sarah winning the prestigious title of first runner-up at the Miss Africa Golden International contest.
Miss Africa Golden stands as a globally inclusive pageant celebrating individuals of African descent, including those with ‘Afro Roots.’ Each year brings inspiring talent to the stage—just like in 2023, when the first runner-up hailed from India.
