Miss Ivy Shares Key Lessons and Opportunities Gained from UNESCO International Artists Forum in Egypt

Rwandan model, filmmaker, and arts advocate Yvonne Kabarokore, popularly known as Miss Ivy, has spoken about the valuable knowledge and experience she gained after participating in a UNESCO international forum held in Egypt, which brought together young artists and creative entrepreneurs from across Africa and the Arab world.

The event, known as UNESCO AFRO ARAB SHARE, is a platform designed to connect young professionals and entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural industries. Its main objective is to promote knowledge exchange, celebrate the shared history between Africa and Arab countries, and explore innovative ways to strengthen the creative economy.

Speaking to InyaRwanda, Miss Ivy explained that being among the Rwandans selected to participate in the prestigious program was both an honor and a life-changing experience. She noted that the forum exposed her to new ideas and practical skills that will continue to shape her personal and professional journey.

According to her, representing Rwanda at the event, which took place in Cairo, Egypt, was a proud achievement. She revealed that she earned her place through a competitive selection process and was delighted to have successfully advanced to the international stage.

“This program enhanced my understanding of the creative economy, arts-based entrepreneurship, marketing and promotion of creative projects, project development, innovation, and storytelling,” she said.

Beyond the professional knowledge she acquired, Miss Ivy highlighted the importance of the international connections she made during the forum. She explained that interacting with participants from different countries gave her a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives across Africa and the Arab region.

She believes that the skills and experience gained from the program will not only benefit her career but will also contribute to the continued growth of Rwanda’s creative and cultural industries.

Miss Ivy attended the forum alongside fellow Rwandans Issa Rurangwa and Biseruka Joshua, who also represented the country at the international gathering.

Yvonne Kabarokore recently completed her university studies in Germany at the New International Performing Arts Institute, where she specialized in Film Directing.

She previously represented Rwanda as Miss Planet International Rwanda 2024 and is also a member of the renowned Mashirika Performing Arts group. In 2025, she added another milestone to her career after winning the Best Fashion Model Award at the Zikomo Africa and Caribbean Awards, held in Tanzania.
