Marina Cuts Ties with Bad Rama Over Unauthorized Use of Her Name

Rwandan singer Marina Deborah, widely known as Marina, has announced that she has officially and permanently ended all ties with Mupenda Ramadhan, also known as Bad Rama, stating clearly that they no longer share any professional or personal relationship.

The announcement was made in a statement released on the night of Monday, April 20, 2026, following repeated instances in which Bad Rama appeared on social media using Marina’s name and photos—actions she says were intended to serve his personal interests and mislead the public.

In her message, Marina expressed surprise at seeing Bad Rama publicly speaking about her and calling on people to support his activities, while also praising her and expressing affection toward her.

Bad Rama, who previously served as Marina’s advisor, had written in one of his posts: “She is my daughter […] What I want to tell you is that Marina is a gift God gave to our country, Rwanda. Instead of helping her grow, we focused on misinterpreting her. I understand—it’s immaturity, yes!”

He continued by describing her as someone who finds it difficult to connect with new people, even colleagues or neighbors, but emphasized that she is a kind person and a very talented artist, urging the public to support and give her opportunities.

However, in her official statement, Marina firmly reiterated that she no longer has any form of relationship with Bad Rama—whether professional or personal—and called on him to stop using her name in his activities.

She stated: “I would like to inform my fans, all Rwandans, and the general public that I no longer have any relationship with this individual. I do not support his activities or his views regarding Rwanda and its leadership.”

Marina further emphasized that her music and career are rooted in her love for her country, making it clear that she does not wish to be associated with anyone she believes seeks to undermine or discredit Rwanda and its leadership.

“I don’t know why he used my name, but I do not accept his support or what he claims about me. My heart and loyalty belong to Rwanda and its leadership,” she added.

She concluded her statement by thanking her fans for their continued support and reassuring them that she will keep creating music that reflects her journey and her deep love for her country.
