Rwandan footballer Manzi Thierry has committed to a two-year contract extension with Al Ahli Tripoli. This follows his outstanding performance that secured the club the league title last Tuesday by defeating Al Hilal Benghazi 2-0 in the championship final held in Italy. Thierry notched the opening goal of the game and had also scored in their prior match, cementing his place as a crucial asset to the team.
Since joining Al Ahli Tripoli in the summer of 2023, Thierry has emerged as a key player for the Libyan side. His contributions have been recognized alongside fellow Rwandan player Bizimana Djihad, as the club gears up for the CAF Champions League. In the preliminary round, they will face Dadjè FC from Benin, and advancing would pit them against the victor of ASCK from Togo versus RS Berkane from Morocco.
Thierry began his football journey with Marine FC, where his exceptional talent made him a standout player and caught the eye of Rayon Sports. In 2018, he helped Rayon Sports achieve the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, before moving to APR FC in 2019. Thierry played for the Rwandan Army team until 2021 when his career took him abroad to Dila Gori in Georgia for six months. He later joined Far Rabat in Morocco before returning to Rwanda to play for AS Kigali.

Manzi Thierry has shown unwavering commitment and skill, evident in his renewed contract with Al Ahli Tripoli after spearheading their championship triumph.
