Many Albums and International Reach – Rugamba Erneste Reveals His 10-Year Dream

Although Rugamba Erneste has a broad vision to build a music career that goes beyond Rwanda and reaches the international stage, he says that all his plans are fully entrusted to the will of God, whom he believes is the only true guide on his journey.

The worship singer, who is currently based in the United States and is still new to the music industry, says that in the next ten years he cannot promise people miracles, except that those who listen to his music will never say that he disappointed them. He says this at a time when he has so far released four songs since beginning his music career in 2025.

Speaking to inyaRwanda, Rugamba Erneste said: “In ten years, I cannot promise many things, except that those who listen to my songs will never say that I disappointed them. For me, music is God’s work. I will do what He enables me to do, especially since I will not abandon my profession in construction.”

Rugamba Erneste, who combines music with a career in construction, added that he hopes by then to have produced many albums, with a broad message and music that can reach as far as possible.

“I hope that by that time I will have released many albums, with a wide-reaching message and music that can reach the international level,” he said.

At the beginning of 2026, Rugamba Erneste released a new version of a hymn titled “Nabonye Umukunzi Mwiza” (I Have Found a Wonderful Lover), a song that carries a powerful message of comfort, love, and hope rooted in God’s love.

This hymn has been used for many years in various churches around the world, especially during times of worship and praise. It is found in the Hymn Book as number 115 and is widely known for its message that touches many hearts.

The song reflects on God’s love, which cannot be compared to human love—a love that heals hearts, refreshes the weary, and gives people hope and strength to continue their journey in life.

In an interview with inyaRwanda, Rugamba Erneste explained that he decided to remake the song because of the special message he personally received from it.

“I remade it because I found in it a message that brings deep comfort. In the different seasons of life that people go through, encountering a song about unfailing love helps reconnect the heart with God. I wanted others to hear it afresh, through new voices and a modern arrangement,” he said.

He explained that the message of this song is meant for anyone going through difficult times, feeling lonely, or wondering whether there is anyone who truly cares. “It is for anyone going through a hard season of life or feeling as if no one cares about them,” he said.

He added that the song reminds people that there is a God who loved humanity first, who never stops walking with them and fighting for them. “It reminds us that there is One who loved us first and who never stops being with us and defending us,” he added.

Rugamba Erneste says that in 2026 he plans to continue releasing more songs with uplifting messages that strengthen faith and bring comfort to people. He called on gospel music lovers to continue supporting him and sharing his message with others.

He says that his main goal in worship music is to comfort people, be a good example, and give glory to God in everything he does. So far, he has released four songs: Inkomezi, Ndakwihaye, Amashimwe, and Nabonye Umukunzi Mwiza.

“I entered music because it is a gift I had loved since long ago. I often felt God speaking to me to use it, but I was afraid. When I arrived in America, I felt that the time had come to put it into practice,” Rugamba said about what pushed him into music.
