It was an unforgettable night on Thursday, August 14, 2025, as Tonzi, one of Rwanda’s most admired artists, officially launched her debut book, ‘An Open Jail’, at Crown Conference in Nyarutarama, Kigali. The book is priced at Rwf 30,000 and is the result of 13 years of dedication, culminating in a masterpiece spanning 174 pages.

Also in attendance were actor Mugisha Emmanuel, famously known as Clapton Kibonge, singer Davis D, genocide historian Tom Ndahiro, fashion model Kabano Franco, artist Olivier The Legend, rapper MD, DJ Spin, and many others.
To unveil her book, Tonzi partnered with event hosts Ntazinda Marcel and Michelle Iradukunda, distinguished presenters from Rwanda’s National Media Center. She also performed ‘Urukumbuzi’ from Mani Martin and several other crowd favorites with fellow artists.
