Lydia Jazmine Teams Up with Chameleone, Bwiza and More for Epic Album

Ugandan singer Lydia Jazmine unveils her highly anticipated album, "The One and Only," featuring 15 songs crafted over two years with collaborations from African stars in Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria, and Tanzania.

Lydia Jazmine’s debut album, "The One and Only," features 15 tracks created during two years of hard work. Collaborating with esteemed artists from Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria, and Tanzania, Lydia showcases her dedication to advancing African music.

Lydia described the album as a milestone in her career: “It’s something that defines me. You will get to hear another side of me. I’ve spent two years cooking this, and the time is now.”

The album includes star-studded collaborations: Bwiza (Rwanda) on "True Love"; Jose Chameleone (Uganda) on "Sure"; Skales (Nigeria) with "Your Ways"; Lava Lava (Tanzania) on "I Miss You"; Elijah Kitaka (Uganda) with "Batya"; and Uganda's Blu*3 group on "Stutter."

The production is equally impressive, involving some of Africa’s celebrated music producers, including Artin, Nessim, Bass Boi, Anko Ronnie, Nexo Beats, Chemical Ali Nicer, and Gopa Beatz.

To introduce this collection, Lydia Jazmine has planned an “Album Listening Party” set to take place at Noni Vie on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Friends, media experts, and entertainment stakeholders will gather for an exclusive preview of her work.

With over 11 years in the music industry, Lydia started young, singing with a school choir and church groups like Passover Harvest Centre and Watoto Church. After graduating, she joined the Gertnum band as a backing vocalist.

She gained initial fame working with Radio And Weasel as a backup singer on tracks like "Ntunga" and "Breath Away." Lydia also collaborated with major Ugandan stars such as Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi.

In 2014, Lydia became a solo artist, debuting with her first single, You Know, in collaboration with Rabadaba.

She furthered her education, earning a degree in Business Administration and Management in 2016 from Multitech Business School in Kampala.

Lydia’s international presence was solidified through her participation in Coke Studio Africa, representing Uganda twice. Her 2017 partnership with Mozambican singer Liloca was directed by acclaimed South African music producer Sketchy Bongo.

"The One and Only" represents Lydia Jazmine’s dedication to collaboration and innovation in African music, pushing boundaries alongside notable artists.
