Kitoko promises a powerful performance as he joins Davido in Kigali

After 12 years in the UK, Rwandan star Kitoko Bibarwa returns to Kigali with a fresh outlook on his music career. Set to perform at BK Arena on December 15, 2025, alongside African superstar Davido, this marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the beloved artist.

The eagerly awaited concert, happening on December 15, 2025, and proudly sponsored by Skol brewery, promises to bring together top African music stars. For Rwandan singer Kitoko Bibarwa, this event symbolizes a fresh start as he embarks on a new chapter in his illustrious music career.

During a press conference on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Kitoko, freshly arrived from the UK after 12 years, shared his heartfelt excitement about reconnecting with his homeland and dedicated fans.

He remarked, “I really missed the people [...] I won’t perform songs by other artists; only my own songs because this is my first time. I will be meeting some people for the first time. There are new fans who don’t know me, and I have to show them what I’m capable of.”

Kitoko’s powerful statement, “I will show them what I’m capable of,” underscored his strong resolve to re-establish himself as a prominent voice in Rwandan music, following a 12-year period of residing in London.

His return to Kigali International Airport on Sunday morning was met with enthusiastic cheers and heartfelt embraces from fans and close friends eager to welcome him home.

Throughout his time abroad, Kitoko honed his musical skills, gaining broader industry knowledge and insight while keeping a close eye on developments in Rwanda.

“It’s been so long since I’ve connected with my fans. Being abroad has its advantages, but nothing compares to being home where your roots are. I’ve come back to pour my heart into my music, and this concert is only the beginning of a new journey,” Kitoko shared with a wide smile.

Fans couldn’t be more thrilled by his return, as Kitoko rose to fame between 2009 and 2012 with iconic Rwandan hits such as “Ikiragi,” and “Rurabo.”

Kitoko clarified that his comeback is not merely about reliving previous glory but rather about building new momentum for his career and crafting a legacy for the upcoming generation of music lovers.

The December 15 concert will also feature international African superstar Davido, who recently debuted his latest album “5IVE.”

Davido will take the stage to promote his album in the region, using the platform as an opportunity to connect with his African fanbase. In contrast, for Kitoko, this marks his debut performance at the prestigious BK Arena—an achievement that fills him with immense pride and excitement.

Emphasizing the significance of his return, Kitoko insists it is far from a temporary stint, declaring his plans to reintegrate into his country’s music industry through collaborations, new projects, and a series of nationwide concerts.

Davido’s newly released album “5IVE” features 17 diverse tracks, spanning genres such as Afrobeats, R&B, Reggaeton, and Dancehall. A standout song from the album is “Offa Me,” a collaboration with Grammy-winning American artist Victoria Monét, produced by top Haitian DJ and producer Michael Brun. The music video for the song has been incredibly well-received, featuring mesmerizing choreography and a vibrant display of African culture.

Beyond Victoria Monét, “5IVE” features collaborations with global stars like Chris Brown, Becky G, Omah Lay, Odumodublvck, Shenseea, Tayc, Dadju, YG Marley, and South African artist Musa Keys, among others.

Davido described his newest album as a groundbreaking work that elevates his global profile, reflects his creative evolution, and showcases his artistic versatility. The album serves as a testament to his music journey and personal growth.

To promote “5IVE,” Davido embarked on a multi-city media tour, stopping in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Paris, and London, giving fans exclusive opportunities for close personal experiences with the global icon.
