Kirikou Akili earns fame as he becomes the first Burundian artist to win a car in the 2025 Super Beat music contest with his hit song "Aha Nihe".

After almost two months of intense competition, the winner of the prestigious 2025 Super Beat music contest was announced on Saturday, November 15. Kirikou Akili etched his name in history as the first Burundian artist to win a car as a grand prize in a music competition.

The talented musician claimed the top prize with his chart-topping song "Aha Nihe", which was named Song of the Year during the event.

Taking the stage during the celebration, Kirikou expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, the Superbat organization, and his supportive family, acknowledging their vital roles in his musical journey.

He shared, “I praise God and the Superbat team for gifting me this car. It is a major achievement in my life, as I have never owned a car before. My family is my strength; this car is dedicated to them as everything I have also belongs to them.”

Wrapping up his speech, Kirikou invited Superbat employees to join him on stage to perform "Aha Nihe", symbolizing the launch of a new collaboration with the company.

He said, “Colleagues at Superbat, please come up and sing this song with me. Today, I officially become one of you, embarking on a promising new path together.”

Alvella Muhimbare, one of Superbat's executives, applauded Kirikou for his remarkable talent and praised the judges for their fairness throughout the contest.

He stated, “It’s clear Kirikou’s song is outstanding. I came here knowing it deserved to win, and any other decision would have been unjust.”

To cap off the celebration, Kirikou took his new car for a test drive, beaming with excitement. It was confirmed that he would officially receive the car, along with all its paperwork, on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

In addition to the coveted car prize, Kirikou secured a year-long contract with Superbat to promote their brand, earning monthly compensation for his efforts.

With an impressive score of 80.5%, Kirikou achieved a monumental milestone in Burundi's music industry, becoming the first artist in the country's history to win a car through a singing competition.

The event was held at Superbat's headquarters, gathering fans, artists, and music enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the announcement of the winner.
